Miami’s Seaspice is already a favorite among the upper crust, hosting the likes of David Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, to name but a few A-listers. The trendy 350-seat brasserie is about to get even more exclusive, though.
Seaspice has just opened a new private club and event space above its main waterfront restaurant. Christened Air, the invite-only establishment takes design cues from luxurious superyachts and offers 180-degree views of the Miami River. Members will be treated to world-class entertainment and high-end cuisine in a refined social setting, according to the Seaspice team.
Echoing an elegant main salon, the light, airy space features teak-lined floors, chrome portholes, and plush velvet seating. The nautical elements continue with a DJ booth that was inspired by a yellow submarine and a sprawling bar that is adorned with sparkling chrome accents. Revelers can enjoy the sunshine on the outdoor terrace or while away the evening on a comfy lounge.
Seaspice says members can expect “exquisite gastronomy,” too, with dishes that are designed to entice the senses. Highlights include premium caviars, signature makis and nigiris, koji-cured salmon, bluefin tuna, and wagyu steak tartare. You can also sip on premium Champagnes, fine wines, and elevated cocktails.
Seaspice says in the hope of shaping “a savvy community of globally minded individuals,” Air membership will be by invitation only. The team didn’t disclose the membership cap or fees, but you can reach out to Air for more info. If you don’t make the cut—we know, that’s unlikely—the downstairs restaurant offers a raw bar, seafood platters, caviar, and more. You’ll probably be treated to a celebrity sighting, too.
The opening of Air isn’t exactly surprising. Miami’s private club scene is expanding apace. New York’s Major Food Group recently opened ZZ’s Club in the Miami Design District and the 20,000-square-foot Club at the Moore will open in the same arty neighborhood this spring. In addition, Arkhaus is hoping to open the world’s first floating members-only club in the metropolis.
